About Cesar
For more than a decade, Cesar Barretto owner of Barretto Personal Training (#TrainWithCee) has been providing customized training programs to exceed his clients’ expectations in more ways than simply reaching their fitness goals. He taps into a lifetime of personal experience as an athlete with sports, fitness, nutrition and supplements, bodybuilding, and mental fortitude to customize a uniquely personal experience for each of his clients. His own fitness journey, competitive mindset and sense of humor gives him a distinctive perspective in helping his clients make the commitment to a fitness lifestyle change, keeping them engaged and excited about exercise and nutrition, and ultimately seeing the results they desire.
As a lifelong learner of everything fitness and training, Cesar attended Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Kinesiology and played collegiate level baseball. He is NASM certified (2009), ASFA Certified Master Trainer (2011), and a certified Rock Steady Boxing Coach (2019). He has competed in nine bodybuilding shows, becoming the 2012 Shawn Ray Baltimore Grand Prix middleweight Champion and the 2014 Philadelphia Classic welterweight Champion
Cesar’s passion for bodybuilding began with a desire to continue to feel the excitement of competition and winning after his college athletic career ended. Although he always took care of his body to perform as an athlete, he found that bodybuilding was the greatest challenge of his fitness journey. The sport of bodybuilding was vastly different than any training he’d experienced before. It’s a 24 hour a day, no break type of extremely personal competition where what you ate, how you rested and how you trained pushed the boundaries of both your physical and mental strength, testing how committed you are to your goal and what you’re willing to sacrifice to obtain that ready-to-step-on-the-stage, award winning physique by competition day.
His desire to share his knowledge of what the body can do and what it can achieve with the right program and mindset with others is what drives him to step foot into the gym every day to train his clients. He believes the things you learn about yourself don’t stop once you leave the weight room - the lessons you learn often carryover into every aspect of your life. He wholeheartedly and passionately loves what he does and often says he doesn’t feel like he has a job. No matter how hardcore or how challenging the experience, he always tries to find a way to overcome the challenge and make it fun, crack a joke or create a new exercise to keep each session he delivers new and fresh for his clients.
